The Board of Governors has addressed many issues over the past few months and we wanted to update you on some changes. On the recommendation of the golf and the greens committee, we are changing our policy with regard to private carts. You will no longer be mandated to white or beige and you will be able to customize your cart. Before you buy a new cart or customize your cur- rent one, it must be approved by SOCC management. Please see our G.M Mike Stanton for approval. If need be, he will involve the Committee or Board of Governors. We have made a modification to our late fee policy. As you may know in the past the club charged 10% per month for late payments. We moved away from this several months ago and began charging 1.5% per month. Unfortunately this wasn’t much of a deterrent to paying late. Beginning July 1 st we are adopting a new policy that is in wide use in the private club world. Any statement not paid by the last day of the month will incur a late fee of $50.00 plus interest of 1.5% per month. At the recommendation of the Membership Committee we are making adjustments to two of our membership categories. All new sports/ social memberships will have golf privileges limited to once per quarter instead of the current 8 times per year. For existing sports/ social members the change will not take effect until Jan 1, 2019.
Effective immediately, the senior golf membership will only be available to current equity members with the following parameters:
The minimum age is 70. Must be an equity member for a minimum of 10 years. Total number of senior memberships available is 85.
Playing privileges and dues structure will remain the same as they are currently.
We are making these changes to better align with best practices of our industry. Discounted senior memberships should only be available to current members who have supported the club for a number of years and not to a new member.
