Biblical Principles For Victorious Living

The Bible is the oldest of Books, yet it is as if it were written today because God’s mind is being revealed to each one of us personally. “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My Words shall not pass away.” Matthew 24:35. The Bible reveals man’s purpose, and man’s destiny. It gives a blueprint for living now, and life hereafter. The Bible leads us to Jesus, and He makes life worth the living now, and He gives us a fore-taste of Glory Divine. The holiest moment of the Church service is the moment when God’s people, strengthened by preaching and sacraments, go out of the Church door into the world to be the Church. We don’t go to Church, we are the Church. “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to GIVE AN ANSWER to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.” 1 Peter 3:15. “For thou shalt be HIS WITNESS unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.” Acts 22:15. When we do the sacraments we can’t help but to be strengthened.
The Bible contains the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of the unsaved, the contentment of believers. Its doctrines are sacred, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable. Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, practice it, and God will direct all thy paths. “The Lord gave the Word; great was the company of those who published it.” Psalm 68:11. “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures, might have hope.” Romans 15:4. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Timothy 3:16,17.
“The Word of God is quick (alive) and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12. “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed rightly di- viding the Word of Truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15. Jesus said: “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by EVERY WORD that proceedeth out of the
Jesus wasn’t just anybody; He is the Lord, and He suffered and gave His life for us. “This is My body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of Me.” Luke 22:19. This keeps our focus, and remembrance on: “For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord; whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s. For TO THIS END Christ both died, and rose, and revived, (lives) that He might be Lord both of the dead and living.” Romans 14:7-9. Our plans take us to but a minute edge of this world. God’s plan opens the gates of Heaven to a realm of eternal vision and destiny. “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8,9. Few know what God’s plan is, and seem to have no desire to find out. “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Matthew 7:13-14. “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16. We came into the world alone and we will go out alone, and only His plan will open the gates of Heaven. For all eternity past we did not exist, but for all eternity future we will. The plan we choose today will decide the destiny of our state therein. What does a person have to do to become a child of his parents? “Just be born.” How does one become a child of God? “Just be born.” We do nothing in either birth. “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.” John 3:6,7. “Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4:12. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17. When we submit, God performs the birth, and then we must do our part: “As newborn babes desire the sincere milk of the Word, that ye may grow thereby.” 1 Peter 2:2. “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ...” 2 Peter 3:18. A good committee is made up of three people when one is sick, and one is absent. Make your own decisions. You alone have to live with the choice you make. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6. We each have only two choices; i.e. we can go our way, or go God’s way. There is no other, and if we don’t acknowledge Him today, one day we will bow down to Him, but then it will be too late. “For it is written, as I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” Romans 14:11- 12. “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Proverbs 14:12. You have a free-will; therefore, the choice is still yours today. “Call unto God, and He will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3. Have you called? “Hitherto have ye asked nothing in My Name; ask and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.” John 16:24. “He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him.” Psalm 91:15. “But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, yea the deep things of God...” 1 Corinthians 2:10. “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, Who giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him.” James 1:5. “God will keep you in perfect peace IF your mind is stayed on Him.” Isaiah 26:3. This works IF your mind is stayed on Him. Just refocus. I don’t think a week goes by that the devil throws a curve ball at us by some means or other, and that perfect peace flies out of our lives like a missile. However, I memorized and appropriated Isaiah 26:3, and when something interferes with my relationship with God, I immediately refocus my mind upon Him, and He restores His perfect peace into my life. I passed hundreds of index cards out to people, and many responded: “This verse works!” Yes, I said: “All God’s promises work!” “Thy Words were found, and I did eat them; and Thy Word was unto me the Joy and Rejoicing of mine heart...” Jeremiah 15:16. Benefits avail themselves IF appropriated. Everybody wants peace, joy, rejoicing, and all the blessings that God promises, and they are all there for the taken: they just need to be appropriated.
