K. Site Furnishings Site furnishings make a statement for a college campus; they reflect the University’s approach to the civic realm in terms of character, style, and quality. Currently, there are several types of benches, trash receptacles, bicycle racks, tables, fences, railings, and lights on campus. Together, they present an inconsistent landscape image and serve to segregate the campus. Through discussions with the University, a single set of furnishings has been selected for use throughout campus. Some special use furnishings are also recommended for unique locations such as the Fine Arts Garden. Moveable tables and chairs are recommended for locations where these furnishings can expand the area’s use and can be stored when they are not needed. Following are the recommended materials.
