Ford Small Block 302/351 “SHP Blocks” (Special High Performance Blocks)

With an 8.200" deck height and a choice of 4.00" or 4.125" siamese cylinder bores, the 302 "SHP" block can safely be bored to 4.185". The steel main caps use 1/2"bolts and are splayed 4-bolt on the center three and 2-bolt on #1 and #5. The valley accepts factory roller lifter guides and retainer (spider). Decks are .625" thick and the siamese cylinders have a minimum wall thickness of .230". A great starting point for a hot rod engine with up to 600 horsepower, it's compatible with stock components.
