Kit Fisher turning off the lights and shutting the door
The Raymond Chandler Library has been housed in two temporary structures since its inception, but this summer it will finally move into a brand new, permanent home. The passive building, so - called because it will be so energy efficient that it should maintain a constant temperature inside, but using 90 per cent less fuel than a standard building, was almost ready for occupation at the time of writing, but will definitely be up and running by the beginning of the Michaelmas term.
The new Chandler Library: ready any minute now!
