Recovery PT. Helping Your Patients With Arthritis

WHY PHYSICAL THERAPY FOR ARTHRITIS?

The majority of patients with arthritis, complain pain limits their function. Physical therapy is an important part of treating patients with arthritis by helping to improve their joint mobility, strength and coordination. By evaluating the strength, proprioception, flexibility, mobility and stability of the arthritic joint, limiting factors can be discovered and treated. At Recovery Physical Therapy, our therapists perform extensive tests for stability and joint mobility. Treatment is then coordinated with your plan, based on information gathered. The focus is on decreasing pain, then on improving flexibility, functional strengthening and patient education on three-plane mechanics. A specific home exercise program is another integral component to treatment. After the initial evaluation, a home exercise program is designed per your patient’s deficits and progressed throughout the course of rehab. It is also our goal to follow your prescribed treatment plan. We keep the communication lines open to make sure you and your patients’ objectives are reached. Upon discharge, a patient walks away with their goals achieved, and thanking you for referring them to Recovery Physical Therapy!
