Specialist Knowledge and Training • Develop training materials for staff, students, and contractors to upskill them in any environmental sustainability aspects of their work. • Provide expertise on environmental management (key impacts identified in ISO14001), social value (i.e., circular economy, ethical supply chain, health & wellbeing, equality) and ESD (i.e., living lab projects, volunteering) and support leadership in pathway development to achieving sustainability targets of net zero, 50% reduction in waste and sustainability literate students. • Work with Faculties and Professional Services colleagues to provide specialist advice on the integration and embedding of sustainability into operations, policy, and decision-making processes, i.e., Equality & diversity Policy, Ness Strategy and Garden Management Plan, to support the delivery of the Sustainability Strategy and/or contribute to the UN SDG’s. • Interpret and present complex and specialist information concisely, to senior management, Sustainability Board members, FRCS colleagues, and others as required. • Contribute to development of the University’s Sustainability Strategy, and related objectives in the Strategic Plan and supporting strategies/frameworks i.e., Curriculum 2021, wellbeing Framework etc. • Produce core sustainability documents for approval by the Sustainability Board, i.e., sustainability Policy, and supporting policies and management plans (i.e., waste policy, environmental pollution & prevention policy, travel plan.) • Respond to requests for information, including those via Freedom of Information Act. • Support the sustainability sponsor, leads and chairs of the sustainability working groups through attendance at meetings and by providing sustainability advice and expertise as necessary. • Contribute to the production of regular reports e.g., to Sustainability Board, CIPG, SLT.
