Director of Advocacy and Opportunities • Significant experience of working within an education or membership-led charity or organisation. • Experience of managing high performing staff and leading teams to achieve excellence in impact • Knowledge of Higher Education policy and issues impacting students • Experience of developing and delivering operational plans to achieve strategic growth. • Experience of collaboration with partners/stakeholders/internal departments • Ability to analyse and present data with conclusions and recommendations • Ability to strategically analyse services and identify developments needed to improve engagement and effectiveness. • Ability to manage complex projects or programmes of work • Experience in coaching teams • Experience in building high-quality stakeholder partnerships • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate, influence and challenge others • Able to think strategically and translate that thinking into operational plans that reflect an organisation’s values • Ability to uphold the values of the Union, demonstrating high standards of integrity, accountability, respect for others, courtesy and professionalism • Actively committed to the growth of equality of opportunity and diversity • Commitment to continual professional development and evidence of seeking this not just for yourself but for direct reports
