The couple’s story began in Boston, where a mutual friend invited Jon to join a group for a drag show. The two immediately connected through quick banter and easy conversation. Their relationship eventually took them to both Los Angeles and Boston before they settled in Newport. Newport also became the backdrop for their engagement. Jon planned a series of “Best of Rhode Island” dates that led up to his proposal. On the day he proposed, the couple biked along Ocean Drive, enjoyed brunch at Castle Hill and ended the evening with a sunset proposal at Brenton Point. By the time they began planning their wedding, Newport was an obvious choice. Lily was born and raised in Newport, where her parents still live in her childhood home. Both Lily and Jon grew
up sailing and share a lifelong appreciation for the ocean, making the location especially meaningful. At the time of their wedding, the couple was living in Newport. They have since moved back to Massachusetts. Lily is vice president of data for a software company, while Jon leads production at a lumber manufacturing startup. They also share their home with Lincoln, a rescue dog they adopted while living in Rhode Island. For Lily and Jon, their Newport wedding brought together family, longtime friendships and the places that have shaped their relationship.
