DR. PATRICK BORGEN
DIRECTOR OF THE BREAST CANCER CENTER
Thank you.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to every one of my colleagues for the work you do. It is you who make our Breast Center so special, and I am grateful to work alongside you. Treating our 7,000th breast cancer patient is a truly remarkable milestone – one that we could not achieve without your dedication and determination. I give my deepest congratulations to Jennifer Eisenstadt for her much-deserved Wings of Healing Award and commend Dr. Jessica Torrente on her many professional achievements, including the Pink Runway Healthcare Excellence Award. And to our brave and beautiful breast cancer survivors – it is your perseverance, grit, and optimism that propels me forward, even on the hardest days. I will never waiver in my resolve to give you the best care that I possibly can. We are in this fight together.
Welcome to our 12th annual Pink Runway! Thank you for your generous support of this event, which is near and dear to my heart.
This year’s Pink Runway is an opportunity to reflect, to celebrate, and to reaffirm the commitment I made 13 years ago to treat every woman who walks through the Breast Center’s doors with compassion, dignity, and expertise. I could not have known then exactly what my journey would entail. I only knew that Brooklyn deserved a full-service, free-standing breast cancer facility. Thirteen years after the founding of the Maimonides Breast Center, it is an honor and a privilege to celebrate all we have achieved together.
