PIA Unveils State Print Profile Resources

Printing Industries of America (PIA) has unveiled the State Print Profiles, which are targeted economic summaries that present in-depth statistics and trends for all 50 states and Washington D.C. in order to pro- vide members with the information necessary to evaluate their regional markets. The Center for Print Economics and Management at PIA used U.S. Census Bureau data to help compile and calculate factors such as company size, metropol- itan statistics within the state, and shipment values. “The State Print Profiles provide printers and sup- pliers with a valuable snapshot of their marketplace and competitive position,” said PIA’s staff Economist Tai McNaughton, who directed the creation of this year’s state profiles. Flexo Ink Industry To Grow At 5.72% CAGR The global flexo ink market is projected to reach $6,840.5 million in 2016 and expected to reach $10,030.3 million in 2023 with a Compound Annual Growth Rate of 5.72 percent, according to a new sur- vey from Market Research Future. Asia Pacific accounted for largest share due to easy availability of raw material, lower labor cost and mini- mal legislations by government regarding usage of VOCs contain inks in end user industries like packag- ing, label and paper. Asia Pacific is forecast to be the fastest growing re- gion in the flexo ink market at close to 6.09 percent CAGR from 2017 to 2023. Esko Organizes Flexible Packaging Class Esko hosted the Flexible Packaging Honours Class, an initiative of the Graphical and Digital Media de- partment of the Artevelde University College Ghent. Intended for ambitious and talented students at the top of their university class, this two-week program focuses on the production of flexible packaging, in- cluding design, prepress, file handling and plate mak- ing operations. The 3rd edition of this course took place from June 19th until June 30th, at Esko’s head- quarter offices in Ghent, Belgium. The Honours Class enriches the formal university education with flexible packaging prepress skills and knowledge. Using Esko Software Platform, stu- dents get intimately acquainted with each step of the workflow.
