MSc Management Accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA), our one-year MSc Management is an intensive and immersive course which shows the path an ambitious graduate can take to become a successful manager in the world of business. A wide choice of elective modules allow students to develop a focus that accelerates their career. For example, they can choose one of our elective specialisms in Consulting or Entrepreneurship that offer the chance to gain an in-depth knowledge in these areas. We also offer the opportunity for a self-organised internship to be recognised as part of the programme, enabling students to immediately put their learning into practice. We immerse students in what it means to lead and manage a business as a whole, helping them to discover how to bring together the teams and skills that are needed to make great decisions and successfully implement them. MSc Management of Information Systems & Digital Innovation This course is about how to better manage, strategise, and use digital technology for business purposes. Students will get the opportunity to tailor their options to their own interests, giving them the opportunity to specialise in IT consultancy or programming/ analytics, or gain an understanding of both disciplines. This course is open to students from a variety of Undergraduate degrees and we value the unique perspectives those from all backgrounds bring to the classroom. We have close relationships with many IT and consulting organisations, including EY, Barclays, PA Consulting, Fetch.ai, Google, and Deloitte, and they value our focus on developing managers with a creative mindset to integrate IT and digital innovations in business. MSc Marketing & Strategy Our MSc Marketing & Strategy course combines these two disciplines providing the theoretical background for making sound marketing decisions, both from within companies and from advisory perspectives in service providers and consultancies. Our teaching illustrates the application of learned techniques to real-life situations. Through this course students will discover that marketing is not a free-standing activity, but one that needs to be at the heart of company strategy. The dual strands of this degree enhances understanding of the broader implications of decisions for the organisation as a whole, giving students the confidence and expertise to apply their skills in a variety of roles in company development. MSc Finance Providing students with a deep theoretical and conceptual knowledge of finance and quantitative skills, preparing them for a range of careers in the financial industry. As the anticipation of jobs being challenged by Artificial Intelligence becomes a reality, we aim to share the skills and depth of understanding needed to design, develop, and supervise these new forms of financial intelligence. In line with the CFA curriculum, our Ethics, Financial Regulation and Corporate Governance module offers students the opportunity to study with a European business partner. WBS benefits from excellent links to key financial institutions and employers, and this course has benefited from industry recommendations. MSc Finance graduates have gone on to work at organisations such as BNP Paribas, Bloomberg, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank. Using their quantitative skills, our course will enable students to have a more critical understanding of the world of accounting, whilst exploring the most current theories and cutting-edge techniques in finance. Finance modules are taken from our MSc Finance. This course is designed to give students the accounting and finance tools needed to step into a wide range of financial and accounting careers in an international environment. A relevant Undergraduate degree is required. MSc Finance graduates have gone on to work at organisations such as BCG, HSBC, GE, Mazars and Innocent Drinks. MSc Mathematical Finance A high-level mix of mathematic and finance disciplines taught by three of the University’s top departments: Statistics, Mathematics and WBS. This mathematically rigorous course, for those with a relevant Undergraduate degree, enables students to develop and apply the quantitative skills in machine learning, computational statistics and mathematical finance used in the financial markets and the finance industry. Students will build on their strong mathematical backgrounds to gain both a deep theoretical and conceptual knowledge of finance, together with the requisite high-level probability, statistics and mathematics, to enable them to undertake advanced quantitative modelling. Lab work will give students hands-on experience of using software packages for simulations and time series analysis, as well as learning programming for quantitative finance in three core languages: Python, C++ and R. MSc Mathematical Finance graduates have gone on to work at organisations such as Man AHL, UBS, Barclays Capital, Bank of America and Zurich Insurance Group. Students will develop a combination of business and management skills alongside advanced financial skills, leading to financial management roles for organisations outside of the finance industry. MSc Finance & Economics Delivered by WBS and the Department of Economics, this course allows students to explore the most advanced tools in finance whilst using their economics background as a springboard to increase their career options. This course is ideal for those who already have a strong grounding in economics, are highly numerate, and want to learn to apply their knowledge to finance. Students will be considering jobs in the City or in the capital markets of their own country, in areas such as asset management, corporate finance, trading, financial regulation, and economic and financial consulting and central banking. A relevant Undergraduate degree is required for this course.
