The finance programmes are challenging technical courses. To succeed on these courses, applicants will need strong accounting, mathematics and statistics or econometrics ability. This could be demonstrated by a 2.1 or 1st achieved in a relevant subject at Undergraduate level. Applicants will need substantial elements of accounting at Undergraduate level, as well as some quantitative modules and preferably some microeconomics.
This degree is highly specialised and is mathematically challenging. Applicants will need strong ability in mathematics and finance, and experience in statistics or econometrics, evidenced by a high 2.1 or 1st in mathematics, statistics, physics or another relevant quantitatively- focused Undergraduate degree. A clear emphasis in their choice of Undergraduate electives on the aforementioned areas will strengthen their application. Whilst applicants will develop all necessary advanced skills on the course, confident foundations in mathematics (in particular sound knowledge of probability theory, linear algebra and differential calculus) are necessary to build on.

The finance programmes are challenging technical courses. To succeed on these courses, applicants will need strong accounting, mathematics and statistics or econometrics ability. This could be demonstrated by a 2.1 or 1st achieved in a relevant subject at Undergraduate level. Applicants will normally need a degree in economics, or have had a substantial economics component, and they must have taken courses in microeconomic and macroeconomic theory at an intermediate level. Competencies are also required in calculus, statistics and econometrics.

To succeed on these courses, applicants will need strong mathematics and statistics or econometrics ability and knowledge of substantial elements of finance at Undergraduate level. This could be demonstrated by a 2.1 or 1st achieved in a relevant subject at Undergraduate level. For applicants with a quantitative degree at Undergraduate level, but who have not yet studied Finance or Economics, we offer a menu of online supplementary courses that they can take at their own pace in Summer 2024. We may recommend or require engagement with any or all of these supplementary courses depending on academic background.

Applicants will need to demonstrate a knowledge of finance and strong quants. This can be shown in mathematics, statistics or econometrics. This should be evidenced by a 1st class honours degree or 2.1 (or equivalent). If they have studied a significant amount of accounting or finance at Undergraduate level then our specialist finance courses may be of interest.
An upper second-class honours degree at Undergraduate level. We welcome applications from a broad range of disciplines. Don’t worry if you haven’t got prior IT experience because this course is not designed as a ‘tools and techniques’ course. We do not require you to have prior knowledge of information technology.
