WHY USE A POLYETHYLENE INSPECTIONS & MANHOLE CHAMBER

Inspection & Manhole Chambers are an essential part of any sewerage reticulation network and are used in the building and civil works - domestic, commercial complexes, industrial and municipal sewerage and drainage networks. Inspection and Manhole Chambers are typically required where there is a change in direction, diameter or significant change in gradient of the sewerage or drainage pipeline. Traditional Chambers are constructed with bricks, concrete or fiber glass. But with vast developments in the plastic industry, today Polyethylene (PE) Chambers are used extensively due to tremendous advantages over traditional methods.

KEY FEATURES

STRENGTH : Tough as good as conventional system at the same time can bend and flex with various loading conditions. CHEMICAL RESISTANCE : Resilient to all the aggressive chemicals and hence attack from hydrogen sulphide and sulfuric acids does not occur.

MAINTENANCE : No maintenance as against regular maintenance.

DURABILITY : Extremely durable with over 50 years of service life. BASE BENCHING : In-built in Chamber base as against done on site depending on personnel skill. INSTALLATION COST : light weight and modular design - less time, no special machine -lower installation cost - space saving due to design means less work and cost.

INSTALLATION SPEED : 10 times faster than conventional system. Can be easily and quickly installed in traffic conditions or water logged areas.

INSTALLATION SAFETY : Light weight implies safe and quick installation thereby enhancing worker and public safety and recbcing public inconvenience.

EASY & LEAKPROOF PIPE CONNECTIONS : Quick inlet and outlet pipe comections and all types of pipes can be connected.

REDUCED OPERATING COST : Completely water tight with no infiltration or ex-filtration -excellent flow, nonporous surface, no build-up.

LOGISTICS : Ease of Transport, requires no crane or heavy equipment.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY : Water tight preventing pollution and low carbon footprint.

RAW MATERIAL

RAW MATERIAL : OPTIFLOW Inspection & Manhole chambers are rotomoulded and made of special grade 100% virgin UV stabilized Polyethylene (PE) material.

DESIGN - STRENGTH : Innovative design based on years of experience incorporates strategically designed horizontal & vertical ribs to provide extra strength to the product and at the same time act an uplift prevention system against ground water. DESIGN FEATURES : Specialized design, production process and the technology used in the production of each OPTIFLOW Chambers guarantees that they are completely water tight, fully corrosion proof, have excellent durability with extremely fast and easy installations. An optimized base design allows receiving and connecting any type of large diameter pipes. Standards: OPTIFLOW Inspection & Manhole Chambers are produced as per EN 13598-1 & EN 13598-2 standardsrespectively.

ASSEMBLY OF MODULAR

OPTIFLOW chambers come with integrated benching with various options from single to multiple inlets HEIGHT ADJ. All Chambers are available in different heights at an interval of approx. 150 — 250 mm and also allow very simple method of height adjustment on site ranging from approx. 150- 250 mm.

Inlet/ outlet pipe connections: Inlet / outlet pipes can be connected in 2 different ways as appropriate. For plain surface PVC, uPVC, HDPE pipes-drilling and placing EN 681-1 elastomer seal of appropriate diameter and pushing the pipe for fast, easy and leak proof connection. This elegant method with elastomerseal remainswatertighteven if the pipe moves i n any direction by up to 5°. For CI, PP, CLAY, GRP appropriate transition adaptors shall be used. For corrugated, HDPE pipes-drilling appropriate diameter and welding directly to the manhole with extruder by using PE rod gives watertight connection.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE OVERVIEW IMPORTANT : We strongly recommend supervision of installation by our expert Installation Engineer. All instructions from Installation Engineer must be respected. Following is an overview of installation procedure. Please consult OPTIFLOW for installation under challenging conditions. High watertable and deep installations maywarrant additional steps as suggested by lnstallation Engineer or site consulting engineer.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE OVERVIEW

Inlet /Outlet Connection Inlet/outlet pipe can be connected in different ways (EN-681 elastomer seal, Extraction welding or transition adaptor) as appropriate depending on type of Pipe. For solid wall plain surface PVC/uPVC/HDPE/FOAM COAR Pipes - drilling and Placing EN 681-1 elastomer seal of appropriate diameter and pushing the pipe For fast, easy and leak proof connection. For structured wall corrugated PE pipes -drilling appropriate OD of pipe and Welding directly to Chamber with extruder by using PE rod gives watertight connection. For Cl/PP/CLAY/GRP & RCC pipes appropriate transition adaptor should be used. Backfill and Compact Important: Quarry Dust of size less than 16mm without ant sharp objects/rocks should be used as back filling material. i. Check leveling of chamber and ensure proper alignment ii. Back filling material should be inserted under the manhole in order to fill in the gap between the manhole and the compacted layer. iii. Backfill around the chamber in layer of 25/30cm and compact at least up to 97% with a mechanical vibrating stamper (50 Kg) iv. Continue to fill-in and compact in layer up to ground level.

ADJUST HEIGHT AND INSTALL COVER The height of chamber can be adjusted on site by cutting the upper edge of the chamber. OPTIFLOW PE covers can be used for non-traffic area installations.
