2024 Nebraska State Fair

FFA Activities

T he Nebraska State Fair provides Nebraska FFA members the opportunity to showcase what they have learned in their agricultural education classes and their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs. Visitors to the Nebraska State Fair will see FFA members exhibiting dairy, beef, hogs, sheep and goats. These livestock projects are part of each member’s SAE - where they apply what they learn in the classroom to their animal enterprise. FFA members also exhibit welding and range boards, agricultural mechanics projects, honey, crops, floral arrangements, plants, fruits and vegetables. Those exhibits are the direct result of hands-on learning in their agricultural education classes. Nebraska FFA has over 200 chapters and 10,000 members who work hard to develop their premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. The 2024 Nebraska State Fair is a place for members to compete as they showcase their skills, make connections with people across the state and explore potential career opportunities.

livestock LIVESTOCK SHOWMANSHIP FFA youth compete to see an exhibitor’s ability to present an animal most effectively in a competitive yet positive attitude. Youth worked hard to bring attention to their animal’s strengths while minimizing their weaknesses. Successful showmen have spent hours at home fine tuning their showmanship skills along with daily care and grooming of their project. Separate showmanship contests are held for Beef, Sheep, Swine, Goat, Poultry and Rabbit.
