The Beauty and the Beast

Beauty and the Beast

Scene 8:

Dinner Companions

Setting:

Evening in the Banquet Hall in the Beast’s Palace

Narrator 3:

That evening, as she was sitting down to supper, she heard the beast. Belle, may I join you? (trembling with fear) That is as you please. No. You alone are mistress here. If my presence is troublesome, I will immediately withdraw. You may stay. Tell me something. Am I ugly? I cannot tell a lie; you are indeed ugly. Ouch! But I believe you are very good-natured. So I am, but then, besides my ugliness, I have no sense. I know very well that I am a poor, silly, stupid creature.
