Spirit of Clay Fun Instructor: The Spirit of Clay
Bring a brown bag lunch along with willingness to express your creativity at The Spirt of Clay. This art studio has opportunities to paint your own pottery or to do glass fusing. It is not too early to think about a beautiful ceramic mug or glass dish for a gift for someone on your list! Costs varies with the pieces you pick. This is a wonderful way to celebrate the rich culinary traditions and personal histories of your ancestors while providing a unique keepsake to cherish and share with loved ones. Here’s a brief overview of what the day will entail: • Recipe Sharing: Participants will bring their favorite recipes in neatly hand written or typed, ready to share the stories and memories behind each dish. • Interviews: The WMYL team will conduct interviews to document the personal stories and cultural significance tied to the recipes. • Photography: Professional photos will be taken of each participant to accompany their stories. • Printed Books: Following the event, WMYL team will compile the recipes, stories, and photos into beautifully printed physical books. These books will allow participants to see their stories and recipes brought to life in a tangible form. Drawing Class Instructor: Marlene Weinstein Exploring light, composition, and color, we will experiment with different materials including charcoal, graphite, pastels and colored pencils. Demonstrations, visual examples and handouts will be provided as well as individual attention. All levels welcome whether novice or experienced hand. Join Daniel, Master Instructor, Steve, Grandmaster and Richard, Black Belt Instructor from Mayfield Academy of Self-Defense for a one-hour seminar focusing on practical self-defense scenarios specifically designed for individuals 55 years of age and up.
