A LEXANDRIA
A 60-year-old North Glengarry man is dead after an industrial accident at the
Sanilit plant in Alexandria last Wednesday.
Roger Cousineau was killed at approximately 4 p.m. when he became pinned
between twometal bins knocked over by a forklift at Hubert Sabourin Inc. on Sandfield
Drive. The welder was working in the area of four large metal bins, saidMatt Blager, a
spokesman with the Ontario Ministry of Labour. He became crushed when one of the
bins picked up by the forklift knocked over two other bins, crushing the victim.
Cousineau was pronounced dead on the scene by the local coroner, Blager said.
“When he worked over here, he was a nice guy to talk to — friendly,” said Andrew
Patty of Alexandria. He said he had been working at the site for “quite awhile.”
