Caleb, our youngest son — now 12 years old — has a great sense of humor. Following are some things he thought were funny and wanted to share:
Mikey, a 3-year-old said, “I just can’t pick up my toys! My arms fell asleep.”
Erik, age 5, said to his mom, “This Scottish tape isn’t sticky. Do we have any Irish tape?”
Hannah, at 6 years of age, said, “I tried my best to draw a puppy, but it spun out of control real fast!”
LAUGHTER REALLY IS THE BEST MEDICINE HEALTH BENEFITS OF HUMOR AND LAUGHING
Mark Twain once said, “The human race has one really effective weapon, and that is LAUGHTER.” Humor is infectious. The sound of roaring laughter is far more contagious than any cough, sniffle, or sneeze. When laughter is shared, it binds people together and increases happiness and intimacy. Laughter also triggers healthy physical changes in the body. Humor and laughter strengthen your immune system, boost your energy, diminish pain, and protect you from the damaging effects of stress. Best of all, this priceless medicine is fun, free, and easy to use. According to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, there is healing power in laughter! For people living with cancer, it may seem strange to find humor when facing such serious issues. Yet, laughter can be helpful in ways you might not have realized or imagined. • Laughter is a powerful antidote to stress, pain, and conflict. Nothing works faster or more dependably to bring your mind and body back into balance than a good laugh. Humor lightens your burdens, inspires hopes, connects you to others, and keeps you grounded, focused, and alert.
