Where Curiosity Meets Breakthroughs
Current Research With over 100 funded research projects, more than 250 students engaged in research projects and about 300 publications per year, the College of Arts & Sciences is a research powerhouse. We pride ourselves on being at the forefront of research and making student training a centerpiece of our research agenda. Students are partners in research: they propose solutions, design instruments, analyze and interpret data, contribute to published articles (more than 90 students were co-authors in 2023) and present their work at local, national and even international conferences. We also work closely with industry: About 60 of our students participate in industry internships or co-ops every year, and we work closely with our Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) to constantly improve opportunities and training for our students. Our IAB includes leaders from a variety of industries, from aviation and space to military and medicine.
