Anything else? Give legal notice with your local registration service

If you’re planning a marriage or civil partnership ceremony, you’ll need to give legal notice at your local register office. The latest this can be done is 29 days prior to the big day but we suggest notice is given earlier, say six to nine months before the ceremony. You can find your local register office by searching on Gov. uk. For the most up to date advice on giving notice, search Gov.uk for ‘marriage’ and click on ‘Give notice’ you’ll find everything you need to know about the process there.

“ I liked that our ceremony wasn’t too traditional (something we didn’t really want) and felt very personal to us. The words were very meaningful and our guests said it was really lovely. Our registrars were amazing and especially really calmed my nerves beforehand! ”
