A MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF YEAR 10

This week we held a cake sale in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Many of the students brought in wonderful house colour themed cakes which the whole school enjoyed looking at and eating. We are very hopeful that the funds raised will help support this great charity which personally touches so many students and staff here at Waldegrave. It was a pleasure welcoming so many of you into school on Tuesday. Thank you to those of you who attended the information evening, we hope that you found it useful. The slides will be up on the website shortly. Well done to Eda B in 10SHO who is the top epraise points winner this week, helping her form maintain the lead at the top. They are followed closely by 10PCL and 10PRE. On Wednesday our GCSE Art students enjoyed a fabulous day out at Kew Gardens, producing some beautiful sketches as part of their course. If there are any students wanting to take a GCSE in another language that is their native tongue then please email exams@waldegravesch.org to get more information.

BOOK OF THE MONTH

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

This book is written from the perspective of Charlie through letter entries, following him and his friends through their challenging navigation through high school and life. It’s a moving and honest story.

MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who contributed towards our Macmillan Coffee Morning fundraiser, whether that was by bringing in homemade goodies to sell or purchasing some cakes on the day. All houses did a fantastic job with their stalls, it was so lovely to see all the bright colours across the hall. We are pleased to announce that we managed to raise £1000 at our bake sale! £800 will be going to Macmillan and £200, raised by our sixth formers, will be going to the Evie Dove Foundation.
