DEAR FRIENDS, We are so glad you’ve decided to spend your summer getaway at The Pines! This season, we’re excited to introduce new ways for you to enjoy your stay with us. If you were at The Pines last year, you’ll recall we were raising funds for several new outdoor activities. You gave, and God provided. Down by the pond, you will find a brand- new climbing wall that leads to high ropes challenges, a canopy tour, and a long zipline across beautiful Andrew Pond. Speaking of Andrew Pond, we introduced 200 largemouth bass into the water, which means fishing this summer will be better than ever. All fishing in our pond is catch and release and doesn’t require a license, so take out one of our kayaks or canoes and enjoy all the pond has to offer. You’ll also notice we added four new glamping tents this year. These tents come fully furnished with a queen bed, bunkbeds, sofa, rocking chairs, and everything you need to enjoy the comforts of home in the tranquility of the woods. In Matthew 11:28, Jesus said, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” During your week at The Pines, we hope you will bring your worries and stress to the feet of Jesus. From our children’s and teen’s programs to our morning Bible sessions for adults, we are dedicated to helping your family experience the rest and joy found in Jesus Christ.

WHITE WATER RAFTING This year, we have made a huge upgrade to our white water rafting program! We have continued partnering with Wild Waters Outdoor Center to provide you an exciting way to experience the rapids of the Adirondacks. Simply by staying at The Pines this week, you are able to book a trip on either the Hudson River or the Sacandaga River for a discounted price! HOUSEKEEPING Throughout your stay, please do not move any furniture in the cabins or rooms. If you have any housekeeping needs, contact the Front Desk in person or by phone at 518.494.1391. PINES COFFEE MUGS & PREMIER BLEND Our 2023 coffee mug is a ceramic mug that comes in a woods green or robin’s egg blue speckle. We also are offering a high-quality vacuum-sealed tumbler in a soft yellow with our logo on the side. Don’t forget to stop by our Pines Camp Store to purchase your mug or tumbler so you can get a free fill-up with our morning coffee delivery and all day long as well as $1 off all our specialty coffee options at the Snack Shack for the rest of the week. We are also continuing our tradition of high-end artisan coffee roasted by a WOLBI alumni from the great state of Maine. Crafted by, Chris Keegan of the Coffee Hound Coffee Company (www.coffeehoundcoffeeco.com), our “Pines Premier” roast coffee is delivered to your campsite or cabin every morning. Simply leave your mug or tumbler on your picnic table by 6:30 AM and our team will fill it for you with our fine fresh brew. Coffee is simply too important to mess around with. Howard Shultz once said, “I was taken by the power that savoring a simple cup of coffee can have to connect people and create community.” As you sip your delicious coffee at camp this summer, enjoy it with your spouse, enjoy it with a new friend or enjoy it with your devotions. IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• The Pines is a Smoke, Drug, and Alcohol-Free Campus; Smoking is not permitted anywhere on property. • The Pool and Swim Area are closed during the meetings. • Please follow the posted speed limit of 10 MPH. • For the safety of you and others, please, no bicycle riding after dark! • It is recommended that anyone under the age of 14 wear a helmet when riding a bicycle. • Please, out of consideration for our neighbors, do not trespass on their property. • Please do not leave fires unattended. • Bags of ice are available for purchase from the Front Desk. • Quiet Hours are between 10:30 PM and 6:30 AM. We ask everyone to respect other guests by refraining from loud talking and any excessive noise. • Dogs are not permitted inside any public buildings, the pool area, or the Picnic Grove. Please always keep your dog(s) on a leash, clean up after them, and prevent them from barking. • For your safety, there is no swimming in Andrew Pond. Children (under the age of 16) need to be accompanied by an adult and need to use a life preserver when boating at Andrew Pond. 2023 SUMMER WEEKS

POOL RULES

FOR YOUR SAFETY The pool at Word of Life Pines is not supervised by a lifeguard. In place of on-site supervision, this facility has established a series of safeguards to be followed by all guests. We are required to notify you of these rules to ensure that water rescue equipment is at the pool and that the swimming area is maintained in a sanitary manner. In the interest of your safety, we require you to follow these rules. Please read the safety rules located at the entrance of the pool and also outlined on this sheet. If you have any questions, we will be happy to discuss them with you. • Never swim alone. A minimum of two adults 18 years of age or older must be present whenever the pool is in use with at least one adult on the pool deck. • There is no substitute for adequate supervision. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied to the pool by a parent, guardian or similar adult who will be responsible for their safety and behavior. • In an emergency, notify the Front Desk and contact help immediately. • Only use the pool during posted hours of operation. • Safety is everyone's responsibility. Injuries can be prevented. If you notice any problems with the water quality or absence

of safety equipment, please notify the Front Desk. • All guests must wear a wristband to enter the pool.
