PAYROLL PETS

Modern life is incredibly busy. Combining work and home life can be a balancing act, and recently, we’ve all been exposed to considerable uncertainty. Pets can really help our mental well-being and help us find some solace and stability in difficult times. We asked you, the payroll professionals, to show us your pets.

Here are just a few of your wonderful furry and feathered friends...

Name: Margo Sent by: Kelly Blake MCIPPdip, payroll

operations manager (UK and Ireland), Experian “Margo is a 17-month-old Weimeraner, who loves nothing more than to be close to her pack. Affectionately nicknamed the velcrodog, dramaraner or the weimeraptor, she definitely improves all of our family’s mental well-being in so many ways. From her clockwork timing and getting you moving to meet her food requests (frozen carrots are her favourites), to keeping me on track with taking regular breaks and her ability to make you smile, by listening to any of your rants / worries / frustrations. “She definitely makes working from home more enjoyable and aids my physical health, with her daily walks helping me smash my step count.”

Names: Jabba and Koda Sent by: Lora Murphy MCIPP, editor, the CIPP ”Here are my step-doggies, Jabba (the Pug) and Koda (the Border Collie). They belong to my partner but I actually feel as if they’re my own pets now too. They’re the most affectionate pair and always know when you need a cuddle or a doggy kiss to cheer you up.” Name: Tommy Sent by: Mihaela-Claudia Tudor MCIPPdip, payroll lead EMEA, NSF “This is Tom, and he’s almost five years old. He’s my son’s best friend and has brought us happiness since he came into our home, at only eight weeks old. He helped us a great deal during the pandemic and lockdown, especially my children. “He’s like an alarm clock in the morning, as he wakes my husband at 5 a.m.! He’s very playful but not too noisy and he doesn’t meow too much! “He’s not only my pet, but also my work partner, as I now work fully remotely.”

If you’ve submitted your payroll pet to us and they’re not included, you’ll see them in a future issue of Professional .
