FTA Announces Forum 2017 Theme, Venue, Chairs The Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) an- nounced that Trending Now as the official theme of the 2017 event. More than 2,000 attendees, repre- senting every segment of the supply chain, are ex- pected to attend the April 30-May 3 event, held at the Sheraton Grand Phoenix Hotel in downtown Phoenix,Arizona. Coinciding with Forum 2017 is the INFO*FLEX Exhibition, which celebrates its 35 an- niversary in 2017. The event takes place May 1-2 at the Phoenix Convention Center. American Packaging To Add New Plant American Packaging Corporation will build a 350,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Chili, NewYork.The company plans to add 262 permanent jobs by 2021. The company is a flexible packaging converter that specializes in flexographic and ro- togravure printing, multi-ply extrusion and adhesive lamination of film, paper, and foil, and pouch and bag fabrication to meet a variety of requirements. American Packaging will invest nearly $170 million in this project, with Empire State Development pro- viding the company with up to $14.7 million through performance-based Excelsior Jobs Program tax credits and Upstate Revitalization Initiative grants. Rochester Gas and Electric also facilitated the project by provid- ing the company with up to $870,000 in grant fund- ing for electric and gas infrastructure.
