Community Involvement Funding Metrics

COASST citizen science Julia Parrish | University of Washington | $136,178 This project will develop a strategy for increasing survey coverage and frequency in COASST Alaska through increased training, targeted recruitment efforts, and the development of a community and agency partner network that will augment current COASST efforts. The proposed expansion will increase the ability to detect localized unusual mortality events (>10´baseline) by 30-100%, as well as increase accu- racy and precision of baseline rates by 15-40% in the Gulf of Alaska and Bering Sea regions.
