certain municipal services for our citizens in 2022. Overall, I am very pleased with the 2022 budget.” The $15 million budget includes a 2.5-per- cent tax increase. For the average house and land in the township valued at $199,000 that means a $33.86 increase in the homeowner’s property tax bill. That works out to $1423 worth of property taxes due when the 2022 tax bills are mailed out. Property tax amounts for other residen- tial properties will vary depending on their assessed value. Commercial, farmland, institutional, and other types of properties will also have different tax values depending on their classifications and assessments.

The 2022 budget includes more than $4 million in planned capital works projects for next year. Alfred-Plantagenet Township now has its 2022 budget ready and with a small tax increase. Council had just one item on the agenda for its last meeting of 2021 on December 21.
