“Altecnic has various models of TMVs specifically designed and manufactured to meet the requirements of the latest NHS model engineering specification.”
Mixcal Careflo Plus TMV.
Other important factors taken into consideration when carrying out performance testing for TMV3 accreditation include: • The company/manufacturer applying for accreditation of the valve must prove their compliance with ISO 9001 (or equivalent quality management system). • The valve must feature the correct markings making it identifiable in the field. • The installation and maintenance documents must include information stated by the scheme. A TRUSTED SOLUTION Altecnic has various models of TMVs that have been specifically designed and manufactured to meet the requirements of the latest NHS model engineering specification - D08 and BS 7942 for use in
vulnerable person applications. The Series 5213 Merchant Mixing Valve, for example, has been approved to TMV3 standard. The 5213 failsafe design shuts off the mixed water flow automatically in the event of disruption in the hot or cold-water supply to the valve, making it particularly beneficial for protecting vulnerable people from serious scalding injuries. The Mixcal Careflo Plus TMV from Altecnic also meets the requirements of BS 7942:2000 and the NHS model engineering specification D08 for use in healthcare settings, hospitals, care homes and schools. The TMV has all the functions of a conventional TMV, such as blending hot and cold water and a failsafe function. The Mixcal Careflo Plus TMV has also been designed to allow thermal disinfection right to the outlet with
a unique thermal override function. Using a special tool and the manual override function, thermal disinfection can be performed through to the outlets, enabling a complete rather than a partial flush without having to remove the TMV from the system. This prevents the growth of harmful bacteria in dead legs throughout the system. As a result, end- users are protected from both scalding risks and risks associated with waterborne pathogens. In healthcare environments patient wellbeing and safety are paramount so, the installation of quality, trusted TMVs, which adhere to the TMV3 standard, is essential.
