Remember that sustainable success comes from Meet Lisa, a single mom whose passion for skincare and mindful parenting shines as brightly as her complexion. Lisa is the owner of Skinolagy, a one-woman skin health studio in Metairie, where she blends holistic beauty with hard-earned hustle. As a licensed esthetician, former dental hygienist, and proud mom, Lisa brings a grounded, intentional energy to everything she does—whether she’s helping clients glow naturally or creating judgment-free heart-to-hearts with her daughter. With a parenting style rooted in supportive guidance and a business mindset that champions starting small and staying present, Lisa is proof that when passion meets purpose, magic (and beautiful skin) happens. WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START YOUR COMPANY? LISA: My passion for holistic skincare inspired me to launch my company. I created a business focused on skin health using organic products and noninvasive treatments that genuinely work. With expertise in facial techniques and a commitment to holistic approaches, I help women rediscover their confidence through healthier skin. I find deep fulfillment in combining my nurturing nature with my hands-on skills to transform how women feel about their natural beauty. WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE MOMS WANTING TO START THEIR OWN BUSINESS? LISA: Start small, and scale gradually to balance business demands with family responsibilities. As an entrepreneur, you’ll wear multiple hats—handling marketing, inventory, sales, and

HOW DO YOU JUGGLE CAREER AND FAMILY LIFE? LISA: I prioritize quality time over quantity with my daughter. While balancing entrepreneurship and parenting is challenging, my daughter’s happiness remains my top priority. When we’re together, I provide my undivided attention [by] truly listening and collaboratively addressing her concerns. This intentional presence allows me to succeed both as a business owner and as a parent. WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR BIGGEST PARENTING SURPRISE? LISA: How much my daughter teaches me—especially about patience and being present. Having a child tests your patience. I’ve never known how patient I can be. Sometimes they do things, and it just drives you crazy, but you have to bite your tongue and hold it. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PARENTING STYLE? LISA: I’d describe my parenting style as Supportive Guidance—giving her the freedom to make her own choices while being there emotionally to support, encourage, and build a safe, trusting bond. WHAT’S A TYPICAL WEEKEND LIKE FOR YOUR FAMILY? LISA: Anything outdoors, whether
it be the park, walking around the neighborhood, [or] going to outdoor events/festivals. WHAT’S ONE THING YOU HOPE YOUR CHILD LEARNS FROM YOU? LISA: I hope my child learns to always be considerate of others—their feelings, their experiences, and what they may be going through. WHAT’S ONE PARENTING HACK YOU SWEAR BY? LISA: A game we call “We listen and we don’t judge.” We take turns sharing something hard or embarrassing, then say together, “We listen and we don’t judge.” It builds trust and honesty. WHAT’S ONE THING YOU WISH YOU KNEW BEFORE BECOMING A MOM? LISA: That raising a child isn’t textbook— you learn as you go. As long as you’re doing it out of love, you’re doing it right.
