Little Libraries – Big Impact They may be little libraries – but they have a big impact. Scattered throughout communities on the lawns or easements of properties, library stewards and their neighbours stock the Little Free Libraries with books for children and adults that are free for the taking. Little Free Library is a non-profit organization with a mission to be a catalyst for building community, inspiring readers, and expanding book access for all through a global network of volunteer-led book exchange boxes. As we reimagine Sherwood together, we truly appreciate your patience and understanding. We know how much you’ve missed the Library. For so many in our community, visiting Sherwood is a part of your daily routine: reading the newspaper, picking up a new book, or just unwinding in a quiet corner. Sherwood has always been a place to connect, and it will be again very soon – better than ever! In 2023 alone, Sherwood welcomed over 140,000 visits. Behind each one is a person who relies on the Library as a safe, inspiring and welcoming place. As the neighbourhood grows, so does the need for a Library that reflects and supports it. That’s why we embarked on this renovation, to build a space that meets your needs now and into the future. This fall, we’ll reopen with an interactive children’s area, more seating, laptop tables, expanded study and meeting areas, brighter spaces and a welcoming new entrance. The heart of our Library has always been you, the people who use it. This renovation is for you, and we can’t wait to welcome you back to a space that feels like home.
