2025 Mini- Sympossium

On June 18 , 2025 , the librar y hosted a da y - long mini - s y mposium dedicated to e x ploring the role of artificial intelligence in academic settings organi z ed b y Public Ser v ices and User E x perience Librarian Justin Thomas . The e v ent featured engaging presentations from Adam Faulkner ( YU AI Facult y ), Matt Frenkel and Lindsa y Anderberg ( NYU Librarians ), and Jacob Bilek ( Montclair Librarian ). Sessions addressed the e v ol v ing AI landscape in the w orkplace , its influence on information - seeking beha v ior , and the integration of AI in librar y instruction . The da y concluded w ith an interacti v e team - building acti v it y w here librar y staff practiced prompt engineering to create AI - generated poems about YU Libraries . The s y mposium w as both educational and inspiring , highlighting the librar y ’ s commitment to inno v ation and professional de v elopment .
