Children will be able to sit down to pen their letters to Santa and drop them in the North Pole Mailbox. • Christmas Caboose Picture Station: Bring the family to the Christmas Caboose located at the historic Train Depot for those holiday family pictures. Downtown Albertville will be bustling with activities earlier this holiday season starting November 18 with the City of Albertville Tree Lighting Ceremony and the annual Christmas Parade. The Albertville Chamber of Commerce holiday festivities will continue on November 19-20 with the Albertville Downtown Christmas Open House. This will include Cookies with Santa in the historic Train Depot on Saturday, Nov.20. According to the Albertville Chamber of Commerce, it was decided to shift the events to the weekend before Thanksgiving in order to create a strong local shopping kickoff for the 2021 holiday selling season. It was only a natural fit for the parade and Cookies with Santa to be a part of the Downtown Open House Event this year. Albertville's Tree Lighting ceremony will start at 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 18 at the Rotary Park Pavilion with the parade starting shortly after at 5:30 p.m. The 2021 parade is presented by Gilbert & Baugh Ford and the Albertville Chamber of Commerce. Downtown Christmas Open House will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, No 19 and will continue through 2 p.m. Saturday, November 20. There will be a variety of activities during the event. • Carriage Rides : Shoppers can enjoy free carriage rides throughout the downtown Albertville area. The carriages will run 5-9 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday. Loading and unloading for the carriages will be located at the Chamber of Commerce. • Cookies with Santa: Santa will be at the Historic Train Depot on Saturday, November 20 from 10 a.m. to noon. Children will receive cookies and can give their Christmas list to Santa. Photos will be available for purchase through CF Media by Chris Flores. • AHS VocalEase Performance : On Saturday, November 20 the AHS Vocal Ease will be performing beginning at 10 a.m. and then every hour on the hour at the Historic Train Depot parking lot. • Aggie Theater : The Aggie Theater will have four performances of Matilda at the Albertville Fine Arts
Family Market: The Lighthouse Theatre Co. Family Market will be held on Saturday November 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Venue @ First Baptist Church of Albertville. Admission to enter is $2. This event will host numerous local merchants and will provide some theatrical entertainment. • Christmas Story Time: Shades of Pemberley Bookstore will have story time on Saturday November 20 at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.. Children can enjoy their favorite Christmas stories as they are joined by Pemberley Penguin. • Local Author Book signings: Shades of Pemberley Bookstore will have local authors in the store for a book signing event on Friday evening and throughout the day on Saturday. • Merry Market at Hammer’s Hall: Local Joe’s will host a Merry Market in Hammer’s Hall from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. • Holiday Pictures: The stage at Local Joe’s will be set for Holiday portraits by Photography by Spring & Mona. Families can come for their holiday photos on Saturday between 9 a.m.-4 p.m.. For appointments call (256) 572- 8836. • Sampling Bar: Local Joe’s will have a sampling bar set up on Friday evening from 5-9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The bar will feature dips, crackers, cider, and cocoa. • Cookie Decorating with Mrs. Claus: The Albertville Home Bakery will host Mrs. Claus and her holiday cookie decorating kits on Saturday, November 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m..
