Teachers and families are a cohesive team sharing insights in order to maximize and complement a student’s learning and growth. INVOLVED FAMILIES THRIVE AT THE ORCHARD SCHOOL “Let’s work on that together” is the attitude at The Orchard School. Whether a child needs more of a challenge or help to get back on track, teachers and families work together to find the best solutions. Open forums, e-blasts, meetings with the head of school to discuss substantive topics, traditions like pageants and the Fall Festival and numerous classroom activities mean that the most important people in the student’s life are connected.

DYNAMIC, MULTICULTURAL EDUCATION

Integral to Orchard’s academic excellence is a dynamic, multicultural education within a widely diverse community that is constantly evolving and growing.

We work to recruit and sustain families and staff from a wide array of backgrounds. We teach our students to consider other ways of thinking, to debate difficult questions in good faith, and to collaborate with people who may have different cultures, experiences, views, and talents. We recognize and value our similarities. We explore, learn from, and appreciate our differences.

Progressive Education @ Orchard DIVERSITY, EQUITY, & INCLUSION Orchard inspires students and faculty to learn from multiple perspectives and understand the world. Right: Orchard parents taught students about the meaning behind Diwali, The Festival of Lights. They shared information about the special clothing, Diyas (homemade clay candles made by one of our parents), Rangoli (mandalas), and more.
