Methanol (CH₃OH) is an essential chemical in various industries, including automotive, pharmaceuticals, and energy. It is traditionally produced from natural gas or coal. Still, green methanol can be created by combining hydrogen with carbon dioxide (CO₂) captured from syngas directly from the WtE process. In this integrated approach, the hydrogen produced can be reacted with CO₂ in a catalytic process to produce methanol. This creates a valuable product and provides a means to recycle CO₂, thus reducing overall emissions. Green methanol is sought after for the container shipping industries.
