Our company was well-suited to this ap- proach to construction, since we already had a highly developed preconstruction department that thoroughly and systematically vets proj- ects before ground is broken for construction. Our recent work includes several high-profile commer- cial projects, including the Joint Armed Forces Reserve Center in New Castle, DE and the Satellite Earth Ter- minal Station at Ft. We were just awarded another large Reserve Center in Havre de Grace, MD, and were re- cently shortlisted to work on various commercial projects for the government of How- ard County, MD. Our consistent approach utilizing our preconstruc- tion expertise, including our Structured Plan Reviews, strict attention to A/E coor- dination, coupled with new technology like BIM will allow our staff to complete these projects with the same expertise that our clients in the residential markets expect. Our preconstruction and construction management staffs are experienced with the materials, codes, meth- ods, and subcontractors needed for commercial con- struction, as well as the special needs of projects that include complex control sys- tems and alternative energy systems. Harkins is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2015, and since the early 1970s our portfolio of projects has in- cluded many office buildings, garages, community centers, warehouses, medical facili- ties, retail centers, military buildings, and even a few hotels. This represents the full range of structural sys- tems, including structural steel and structural concrete buildings. In the 1990s, Harkins be- gan providing design-build
