King's Business - 1910-06

His feet will stand on the same mount from which He ascended (Zach. 14:4). His Coming is Imminent (Mark 13: 34, 35; Luke 12:35, 36; Matt. 25:13, 24:44). It will be unexpected to the world (1 Thess. 5:2, 3; Rev. 16:15). The world will not be converted when He comes (Matt. 24:37-39; Luke 21:34, 35; Rev. 1:7). He will coins for His saints and will meet them in the air (1 Thess. 4:14-17). He will transform their bodies (1 Cor. 15:51-53; 1 Jno. 3:3; Phil. 3:20, 21). His saints will then come with Him to the earth (1 Thess. 3:13; Col. 3:4; Matt. 25:31, 32). He will come with rejoicing (1 Thess. 2:19; Isa. 25:9). His people shall reign with Him (Rev. 20:4). His reward is with Him (Matt. 16: 27; 1 Tim. 4:8; 1 Pet. 5:4), He will restore Israel (Acts 15:16). He will reign over the nations (Zeeh. 9:10). His coming is the incentive to holy living. In view of this we are urged to sanctification (1 Thess. 5:23; Phil. 1:9, 10)'. Moderation (Phil. 4:5, R. V.). Patience (Jas. 5:7, 8; 1 Thess. 4:10; 2 Thess 3:3). Crucifixion of self (Col. 3:4, 5; Titus 2:12, 13). Prayer (Mark 13:33). Heavenly mindedness (Col. 3:1-4). Brotherly love (1 Thess. 3:12, 13). Faithful service (1 Thess. 2:19; 20; 2 Tim. 4:1-5; 1 Pet. 5:1-4; 1 Cor. 1:7). At the communion table we are ex- horted to remember His death until He comes (1 Cor. 11:26). The final prayer in the Bible is for His coming, " Ev en so came Lord J e s u s" (Rev. 22r20). MISSIONARY THEME. The field is the world (Matt. 13:38). 1. The Field is its beauty. See it as the Paradise of God (Gen. 1:26-31; Jer. 10:12). God made the world beautiful. There was not a blemish upon it. He pro- nounced it very good (Gen. 1:31). In the day that He gave it to Adam and Eve there was nothing that could have been added to its glory. It was per- fect. 2. The Field Blighted. See the havoc which sin has wrought. Spoiled by Satan (Rom. 5:12; Matt. 13:39; Acts 10:38).

enty-five per cent, of all Christians were saved when young. Your opportunity is great and so is you responsibility. Your instructions for service will be found in the Word of God. It is a seed—sow it (Luke 8: 11). It is a sword—use it (Epli. 6:17; Heb. 4:12). You must believe that souls are lost (Bom. 3:10-20). That they can be saved (Heb. 7:25). That God wants them to be saved (1 Tim. 2:4). That He will use you in their salvation. Begin now .(2 Cor. 6:2). Be wise (Matt. 10:16). Be prayerful, be earn- est, be persistent. Deal with souls individually, avoid controversy, urge immediate acceptance and confession of Christ. Where possi- ble, let the one you are dealing with read from your Bible or Testament the passage of Scripture. Remember that the work of the Holy Spirit is to convince of sin, righteousness and judgment (Jno. 16:8-11), and He will use you as a co-worker. There is no greater work in all the world than that of soul saving. No work more needed. Give yourself unreservedly to the high and holy calling of personal work. THE LORD'S COMING. One of the fundamental doctrines of the Evangelical Church and emphasized in the Apostles' Creed is the teaching of the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to this earth. Three hundred and eigh- teen times in the 260 chapters of the New Testament it is mentioned. One out of every twenty-five verses speaks of that event. The coming of the Lord Jesus is the theme of the Bible. Prom Gen. 3:15 to Mai. 4:1-6, and from Acts 1 to Rev. 22, there is one significant note running through its every page. He comes. This is the revolutionizing doctrine of the Bible. When seen, believed and understood, this teaching will give you the right bearings for life's pilgrim- age. He promised to come again (Jno. 14: 3). I will come again. The Apostles prophesied His coming (Heb. 9:28; Phil. 3:20, 21; 1 Thess. 4: 16, 17). His coming will be personal, visible and glorious (Acts 1:11; Heb. 9:28; Rev. 1:7). He will come in the clouds (Matt. 24:30; Acts 1:9).
