KNOWING WHERE TO GO

Adapting to change Based on experience

Keep

Almost 15 per cent of households in Telford and Wrekin struggle with fuel poverty, spending a large amount of income on simply staying warm. ‘Warm & Well Telford’ is just one commitment from us to ensure residents can enjoy the comfort of a warm home while cutting energy costs. We’re committed to reducing the number of people in fuel poverty and examples of how eligible properties can get help include applying for smart thermostatic radiator valves, partial-glazing or energy efficient external doors for more efficient insulation. By supporting people to make adaptations, carbon emissions can be reduced and we can all take steps towards a more sustainable borough. Warm & Well

If day-to-day living has become difficult because of illness or disability, a new information hub is now available that’s full of free support. There are lots of ways to help you keep your independence or to support a loved one with the “Knowing Where to Go” leaflet. The leaflet sets out the essential services for adult social care services in one handy place and has been specially produced with help from people with real experience on the

‘Making it Real Board’. Sarah Roberts, co-chair of the “Making It Real Board” said: “Whether you are new or already known to adult social care, the flyer has key information and contact details to support you to contact the right service.” Alli Edwards, member of the “Making It Real Board”, said: “This document is a ‘must’ for everyone in Telford and Wrekin who needs information about Adult Care Services.”

“Adult social care is not constricted to one age group and is for all forms of personal and practical care and assistance aimed at supporting individuals, allowing them to live independently.

The compassionate carers we have means everyone can live their lives to the fullest and

be their best selves.”

Councillor Paul Watling Telford & Wrekin Council’s Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and Health Systems
