Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2023, Blists Hill Victorian Town beckons you to step into the past and explore its magical 52-acre open-air museum surrounded by the industrial monuments of the former Madeley Wood Company. “Since opening in 1973, we’ve been dedicated to preserving the Gorge and Telford’s history, offering an immersive glimpse into life in the early 1900’s”, said Nick Ralls, Chief Executive of Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust. “This autumn and winter, you can join us for a series of seasonal events that capture the essence of our heritage and promise an authentic experience, including our Victorian Christmas lates and weekends. “As the museum trust’s Chief Executive, I’m proud of the commitment of our team and humbled by the support of our volunteers and local communities. “Blists Hill Victorian Town stands as a bridge between eras, reminding us of the significance of our roots. Back by popular demand – a magical Christmas experience Festive attractions on and around Southwater lake will delight you on your way through the Christmas market in Southwater. The Twelve Days of Christmas festive gardens will also see the Chelsea and Maxell Gardens in Telford Town Park transformed into a festive show of lights and sound. “We went today, it’s absolutely beautiful” “Great idea for people who can’t afford the expensive events that are on.
