BBS serves as the multi- discipline designer for the en- tire district-wide construction program, which also includes the construction of additions to Watson Elementary School as well as numerous exterior and interior renovations, and upgrades to athletic facilities throughout the Rockville Cen- tre School District.” Prior to creating the architec- tural and engineering designs for South Side and other proj- ects included in the district’s overall improvement program, BBS performed a review of existing facilities, analyzed demographic data and trends, assessed the cost of various al- ternatives, and gathered input from the district’s personnel

Bids were submitted by 10 companies and ranged from $16.9 million to $19 million with the contract awarded to Hessert Construction of Marlton, which provided the low responsive bid. “The bids were relatively close which indicates that the specifications were solid,” said John Lamey, ACIA Executive Director. “We are anxious to begin construction and help the SARTP become a collab- orative, full-service, aviation research facility to grow and support an aviation industry in Atlantic County.” Site work and infrastruc- ture improvements at the SARTP began in November 2016 following the award of a $1.354 million contract to Command Company, Inc. of Egg Harbor City. The ACIA expects Hessert construction crews to mobilize and be on site in a month with construction completion an- ticipated in the second quarter of 2018. n and the local community. Based on this research, BBS developed a capital program that was divided into three distinctive areas: 1) spatial needs, which encompass the necessary additional class- rooms, administrative offices, and other facilities; 2) facility needs, which encompass the re- quired maintenance and capi- tal improvements to existing facilities and infrastructure; and 3) the site work, which consists of sports fields, play- grounds, pick-up and drop-off loops, driveways, and parking areas. BBS served as the architect; interior designer; technology designer; and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineer for the project.

Egg Harbor Twp., NJ — A $17.2 million contract for construction of the first build- ing on the 58-acre Stockton Aviation Research and Tech- nology Park (SARTP) adjacent to the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center, the nation’s premier air transportation laboratory, and the Atlantic City International Airport in Egg Harbor Township was unanimously approved on March 23, 2017 by the Atlantic County Improvement Author- ity’s board of commissioners. The three-story, 66,000 s/f building will be constructed and owned by the Atlan- tic County Improvement Authority . It will include high-speed connectivity to the Technical Center laboratories, state-of-the-art classrooms and conference rooms, and roof top lounge. An FAA labo- ratory and offices will occupy 7,000 s/f with rental space for additional laboratories and offices. Tenants will have 24/7 access protected by a state-of- the-art security system. “This moves us closer to

our goal of establishing an aviation industry in Atlantic County and a means of grow- ing and diversifying our econ- omy,” said Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson. “The SARTP supplements our existing assets of the FAA and the airport, Stockton Univer- sity and Atlantic Cape Com- munity College, and being one of six national Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) test sites in the country.” The building is one of seven, multi-story buildings with over 400,000 total s/f of re- search and development space planned for the park which
