KEY FINDINGS OF STATE SUMMARIES

• California was the top Indian gaming state in generating the most Jobs (162,754), Labor Income ($8.2 billion), Economic Output ($20.9 billion) and Taxes ($4.2 billion). • Oklahoma was the next Indian gaming state in generating the most Jobs (86,026), Labor Income ($3.6 billion), Economic Output ($8.8 billion) and Taxes ($1.7 billion). • Economic Spillovers followed California and Oklahoma in generating the most Jobs (77,995), Labor Income ($4.0 billion), Economic Output ($11.4 billion) and Taxes ($2.1 billion). In economics, spillover effects are economic events in one context that occur because of something else in a seemingly unrelated context. Spillover Effect, as the name states “the effect which spills over”. In the United States, each state is dependent on the others economy in some of the way, in such situations a slight change in the economy or state of “A” may lead to change into the economy of “B”. In measuring the statewide impacts of Indian gaming, these spillover effects have been captured for this study. • Washington was the third Indian gaming state in generating the most Jobs (55,721), Labor Income ($2.3 billion), Economic Output ($5.6 billion) and Taxes ($1.1 billion) • The twenty-eighth state, which was the lowest ranking was Alaska at generating jobs (227), Labor Income ($12.2 million), Economic Output ($28.9 million) and Taxes ($4.9 million).

• The bottom five states, which includes: Wyoming, Nevada, Montana, Nebraska and Alaska generated Jobs (5,782), Labor Income ($167.5 million), Economic Output ($416.1 million) and Taxes ($84.2 million). The jobs generated in the bottom five states represents only 0.78% of the overall total which stands at 745,052. • The top five states, which includes: California, Oklahoma, Washington, Florida and Arizona generated 53.2% of the Jobs (396,659), Labor Income ($18.1 billion), Economic Output ($45.2 billion) and Taxes ($9.3 billion). The next twenty-three states, generated 36.3% of the Jobs (270,399), Labor Income ($10.1 billion), Economic Output ($25.0 billion) and Taxes ($5.4 billion). The spill over spending into other parts of the United States generated 10.5% of the Jobs (77,995), Labor Income ($4.0 billion), Economic Output ($11.5 billion) and Taxes ($2.1 billion).
