have chosen, or the default fund used by their first employer. The reforms, known as ‘Your Future, Your Super’ aim to reduce the creation of duplicate accounts when workers start new jobs. From 1 November, employers will need to check with the ATO to see if a new employee has an existing super account. If the new employee doesn’t, and they don’t wish to nominate a fund, that employee can join the employer’s existing default fund. Hostplus is here to help you understand your super obligations.
