Enrollment from Emergency Homeless Shelter In October of 2023, the Commonwealth established an emergency homeless shelter at the Minuteman Inn in Acton, located at 71 Hosmer Street. School-aged children who are placed at the shelter are eligible to be immediately enrolled in the Acton-Boxborough School District (and also have the option to remain at the public school where they previously attended). Students residing at the shelter who enroll in the District are included in the Acton enrollment figures.

Recent Trends and Projections The tables and graphs in this section offer data about recent enrollment trends, as well as current projections about enrollment patterns for the next several school years. This includes differences between projected and actual enrollment for individual school years, change over time in enrollment at the District and within different grade levels, and information about student enrollment by town of residence (i.e. Acton or Boxborough). Overall, current enrollment projections indicate that the overall District population will not experience much volatility or change over the next five to seven years. This is also the case at the different grade levels (elementary, middle and high school). Two other data points that should be noted: ➢ Predicting enrollment of Kindergarten students is a perpetual challenge, and there have been years with significant differences between projected and actual enrollment. Over the past two years, projections have been fairly accurate. ➢ One trend that projections indicate will continue is the shift in the enrollment split between Acton and Boxborough, with the percentage of A-B students from Boxborough increasing
