SELECTED FY25 ACCOMPLISHMENTS ● DataTeams - We have implemented the use of data teams to look at student growth in ELA and Math. This has been a productive way for us to talk about student learning and student needs. ● Intervention (Workshop) Block - We used our Directed Study block to offer two cycles of intervention to students during the first semester. Small groups of students met with teachers during Directed Study to work on specific skill gaps. This model is now on pause in consideration of sustainability and contractual obligations. ● Student Training on Interrupting Bias - All students were trained on how to interrupt when they hear or witness incidents of hate or bias. Using the model of Interrupt, Question, Educate, and Echo , students have a framework for appropriate response. ● Frozen, Jr - The fall musical, Frozen, Jr . featured student actors, singers, dancers, and crew. The community responded positively to this show, with several sell-out crowds during the run!
FY26 BUDGET PRIORITIES, INITIATIVES & BUDGETARY CONSIDERATIONS
We have not proposed any increase in funding for FY26. The proposed reductions are listed below. We will continue to offer our current programming, albeit with fewer staff members.
The NESDEC projections for our school size next year indicate that we will have 836 students. That includes 409 students in 7th grade and 427 in 8th grade.
SUMMARY OF CHANGES FROM FY25 TO FY26
Reduce 3.0 FTE positions: ● 1.0Math ● 1.0 Science ● 1.0 Social Studies
The reduction of these three positions, in addition to reducing an ELA teacher last year, effectively eliminates an entire team of teachers. There will be seven teams of teachers, rather than eight. We will have 3 full-size teams in 7th grade and 3 full-size teams in 8th grade. The seventh team will be made up of 7th graders (40%) and 8th graders (60%).
The impact of these reductions will lead to larger team sizes and larger class sizes. The typical team teacher will teach 120 students
