​ ​ ORGANIZATION/PROGRAM DESCRIPTION ​ ​

The Teaching and Learning Department is responsible for the implementation of the MA Curriculum Frameworks throughout the district. This includes supporting educators’ delivery and understanding of the standards through collaborative long-range and short-range planning, learning of content, reflection on practice, assessment, and implementation of new practices.

The office of Teaching and Learning is responsible for: ●​ PK-12 implementation of MA DESE Frameworks

●​ PK-12 implementation of curriculum and instructional practices ●​ PK-12 professional learning for staff, school, and district leaders ●​ the Beginning Teachers Support Program (BTSP) ●​ the ABRSD’s Research & Development Program (R&D) ●​ Title I Entitlement Grant; Title I Program Director

●​ Title IIA Entitlement Grant ●​ Title III Entitlement Grant ●​ Title IV Entitlement Grant ●​ Federal ESSA Grant Programs Monitoring ●​ Competitive Grants ●​ National, MA DESE and District Assessments, including Early Literacy Screener ●​ Student Opportunity Act (SOA) Plan ●​ Homeschooling ●​ PK-12 Visual Arts

●​ PK-12 PE and Health ●​ Educational Technology ●​ Multilingual Programming ●​ SEL Curriculum

●​ Teaching and Learning Leadership Team ●​ Elementary Teaching and Learning Team ●​ Student-Centered Coaching ●​ Educator and student learning materials ●​ Community engagement for teaching and learning ●​ Research conducted in the District

SELECTED FY25 ACCOMPLISHMENTS ●​ Engaged in transition and Entry Plan for new Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning following extensive tenure of prior leader ●​ Guided Year 2 implementation of K-6 Tier 1 Literacy curricular resource with district wide professional learning for classroom teachers, special educators, and English Language Educators
