ORGANIZATION/PROGRAM DESCRIPTION The Department of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion supports the strengthening of cultural proficiency and a positive sense of belonging in our school district. Our responsibility is to ensure all students have equitable access to learning, programs and curricula to reach their full potential. Other areas of responsibility include: ● Title IX Coordinator ● Director of Resource Center ● Coordinator for all school based investigations ● Coordination of District attendance process and co-facilitator of Chronic Absenteeism Task Force ● Provide guidance to all school based leadership ● Co-facilitator of SEL/bullying curriculum adoption process ● Co-facilitator of District Safety Team ● Co-facilitator of District Crisis Team ● Coordinates the implementation of strategies to interrupt hate and bias messaging ● Coordinates the SEED (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) leaders and professional learning seminars ● Coordinates the District Culturally Responsive Teacher Leadership (CRTL) Model ● Coordinates professional learning opportunities for culturally responsive practices ● Co-coordinates the HS and JH Peer Leadership Model ● Facilitates professional learning communities for district’s assistant principals ● Co-facilitation of the staff BIPOC group ● Co-facilitation and/or provide guidance of internal DEI committees ● Competitive grants ● Collaborate with Human Resources to implement diverse and inclusive recruitment and hiring practices ● Consults with Town of Acton’s DEI director to address community based needs ● Builds relationships with external organizations and community groups
