​ ​ ORGANIZATION/PROGRAM DESCRIPTION The Acton-Boxborough Regional School District is one of over 300 active public and private members of the ​ ​ Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association, comprised of Acton-Boxborough Regional High School and RJ Grey Junior High School. We offer a robust and expansive interscholastic, educational athletics program that encompasses 35 distinct varsity sports at the high school and 11 distinct sports at the junior high school. With sub varsity teams, these programs surpass 70 total offerings throughout three seasons of play. With access to three multipurpose turf playing surfaces, 3 gymnasiums, 9 tennis courts, 3 sheets of ice at Nashoba Valley Olympia Rink, 1 regulation track, 1 indoor swimming pool with regulation diving board, and numerous outdoor grass playing fields and spaces, accompanied by a renovated fitness center complete with myriad machines and equipment, the student-athletes at Acton-Boxborough continue to have access to excellent facilities and coaching, while competing in the highest division (1) throughout the Commonwealth. In addition to dozens of paid and volunteer site workers, ABRSD Athletics employs more than 128 qualified paid and volunteer coaches to provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to our 1617 registered student-athletes across the fall, winter, and spring seasons. AB is a contributing member of the Dual County League (DCL), an 11 member league also consisting of Bedford, Boston Latin, Cambridge Rindge & Latin, Concord-Carlisle, Lincoln-Sudbury, Newton South, Waltham, Wayland, Westford Academy, and Weston High Schools, which shares athletic and educational ties. Effective Fall 2024, AB Athletics adopted the motto of “Culture, Community, & Competitive Spirit”, which embodies the rich tradition educational athletics has held in these two towns, acknowledges the diverse and inclusive communities our regional schools represent, and the impact extracurriculars have on the cultural fabric of our schools and communities at large. -​ Expanded social media usage to include new channels (e.g. Instagram), organically growing from 0 followers to 1023 followers in approximately 5.5 months, ensuring more effective and engaging methods of communication -​ Ongoing standalone website development with VNN, which syncs with ArbiterLive to share live schedules, score tickers, highlights and achievements, videos and photo galleries, relevant links to important information and partners, and dynamic content for students, families, and community members -​ Frequent dialogue with local media outlets (e.g. Acton Exchange, Boston Globe, Boston Herald) to increase game coverage, student-athlete recognition, and team accolades -​ Release of a Fall 2024 Recap to all students, parents/caregivers, and staff at ABRHS and RJG through ParentSquare, amplifying the accomplishments of our teams and student-athletes Improved Student Recognition -​ Held a signing day ceremony in the ABRHS Auditorium for student-athletes committed to participating in sports SELECTED FY25 ACCOMPLISHMENTS Increased Exposure, Advocacy, and Communication
