Vaccine hesitancy in Hong Kong

collective benefit of preventing transmission of the disease and 70.0% vaccine uptake amongst those who did not. In contrast to the Acceptant group, merely 20.8% of the Resistant Group would have been vaccinated if they had known that vaccine’s collective benefit. To those who knew that vaccines protect the community in the first place, none would choose to be vaccinated. However, among those who mistakenly thought that vaccines could not prevent transmission, 27.8% would be vaccinated when they had noted vaccine’s collective benefits, meaning that these people are crucial to a higher vaccine uptake, as what it takes for them to be vaccinated is just the correct knowledge or benefit.

Family support and f amily’s vaccination status

All respondents were asked if they had any vaccinated family members. Overall, a large majority of respondents (85.6%) had at least one vaccinated family member. Respondents with vaccinated or more vaccine-acceptant family members would be more likely to be vaccinated themselves. A stunning
