The Jockey Club will fund Gloucester girl Aamilah Aswat’s place in the new Riding A Dream Academy

A new and exciting initiative that gives young people the chance to experience what a life in racing could look like has launched, and The Jockey Club is proud to be supporting the cause. Eight talented riders have been selected for the year-long prestigious

Farm is a riding school run by Imran, who believes he can help children, who would otherwise not have a chance, to learn the basics of riding. Aamilah said: “I am so excited to have been accepted on to the Khadijah Mellah Scholarship. I have always loved horses and my dream is to ride in and win the Grand National. I recently won my rst race on Zara, the pony bought for St James City Farm by The Jockey Club, and it was so amazing. I am so pleased that through the Scholarship I will be able to get even more experience in racing and hopefully achieve all my dreams.” Aamilah’s racing pony Zara belongs to Junior Jumpers, which supports the City Farm.
