F EATURE RETRAINING OF RACEHORSES

RoR has given former racehorses, whatever their ability on the track, a second chance to shine

Glenfly: on the racecourse, Glenfly ran in the green and white of owner Trevor Hemmings, but it was in the green and gold of Brazil that Glenfly achieved a career high, when, together with rider Marcelo Tosi, he represented Brazil in Eventing at the Tokyo Olympics. Formerly trained by Philip Hobbs and then Chris Kellett, Glenfly was unplaced in nine runs under Rules, before embarking on a new career in eventing that would eventually take him to Tokyo. Saphir Du Rheu: the former Paul Nicholls-trained Saphir Du Rheu won a Grade One race at the 2015 Aintree Grand National meeting. Now in the care of Charlotte Alexander, who also rode Denman after his retirement, the striking grey is making his mark in eventing, as well as cutting a dash in the hunting field.
