bootblacks and newsboys, has become a feature of the work that bids fair to bring great results. The boys are making good progress in memorizing Scripture. The following letter gives a little insight into the incidents of the work which are of daily occurrence: “Dear Brothers:—I write this letter hop ing to do a little work for the One that has done so much for me. My name is -— ----——. I was in your mission about four weeks ago, not through any effort of mine, one of your young men picked me up on Main St., drunk, and brought me to the mission. Perhaps you will remember the time if I describe myself. I am in my forty-first year, twenty-five of them years drinking alcohol, the last ten years a terri ble drunkard, thank God, through the young man that picked me up and brought me to the Yoke Fellow’s Mission I am saved from drink. The young man I never met before, nor since, but I would know him amongst a thousand men, and’ thank God for his tender words and loving kindness in taking me to the Yoke Fellow’s Mission. For two days I fought against the Spirit. How I suffered, walking the road towards Bakers field, hungry and sick, just 5 cents in my pocket, then I gave in, got down on my knees and prayed for deliverance. O, what a relief. I am happy and contented since, haven’t needed for anything, God will pro vide if we only let him take control of us. I was told that thousands of times and believed it, but I wouldn’t let Him. I did at last. O, how glad I am for it. I give that young brother the credit or the Saviour through him. I have had lots of good peo ple work on me. Nobody ever touched me in such a way before. Thank God for His servant. Thank Him ten thousands of times. I am coming to Los Angeles some day, then you all will see me, if God’s willing. I leave it all to Him now. Pray for me and then pray again and again. I am thanking God quite often for the boy that picked me up on Main street.” Do not forget to pray for this brother, and that “the boys” may “pick up" more like him.

We are returning thanks to our Lord over the happy conclusion of a case of long standing. A young nurse who had been persecuted and over-persuaded, by a physi cian, is at last rejoicing in a two-fold de liverance from the awful condition of sin and sorrow and from herself. Having ac cepted Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord she is a new creature, with a new purpose and a peace past understanding. “Science” and philosophy had led a girl away from Jesus Christ, but they failed to satisfy the heart need. In despair, groping in darkness, this girl came to the Bible woman. Doubt as to the Word of God made it seem impossible to accept the Christ of Scripture, but when Jer. 7 :17 was put to an honest test light came and this soul is telling to others the joy of finding Jesus Christ. A young girl who had been followed by one of the Bible Women was not to be found, after a few weeks. Prayer was of fered at the Bible Women’s weekly con ference, and by individuals, that the girl might be successfully traced. After many weeks of anxious waiting and searching the girl, herself, came face to face with the one who had dealt with her and in spite of much opposition andi difficulty among her friends, the girl took a definite stand for her Lord.- A recent letter from her is abounding in joy and gratitude that God is using her for His glory in the home in which she is now staying and we feel sure her life will be a fruitful one in service. Opposition often strengthens a young Chris tian. Yokefellow’s Hall During the last month the men of the Institute relieved Mr. Mullen for two weeks and. took entire charge of the work. There was good interest in the meetings, the Gos pel was given with real power, both on the street and in the hall. Many men were reached. The Sunday School, composed of
